Lloyds of London is a historic British insurance institution operating in one of the most iconic landmark buildings on the Capitals skyline.
Originally constructed in 1986, the building is renowned for its unique architecture, where building services, such as lifts and ducts are located on the outside of the structure.
Following a power distribution survey for the premises, a full upgrade programme was determined, which included the specification of FirePro fire suppression technology for HV/LV & electrical distribution rooms.
Following a full evaluation, Key factors behind the professional team’s decision to select FirePro included:
• FirePro is an LPCB certificated product.
• As of Sept 21 systems may now be installed & certificated in accordance with the LPCB scheme ref 1204.
• The product is supported in the UK by a large network of independent 3rd party accredited fire systems specialists, thus alleviating the risk to the end user of being locked in for after sales servicing.
• The speed of installation could be guaranteed to meet the programme, with readily available materials and full technical support from FirePro UK.
• Reference installations with fully satisfied users, were readily available for the team’s inspection.
• Claims for product sustainability and zero environmental harm were clearly satisfied.
• The client is assured by an independently certified (KIWA & UL) 15 year product life cycle, and wholly sustainable, environmentally sound solution.
• Sacrificial footprint and 10-year hydrostatic testing for pressurised cylinder requirements were eliminated, thus generating lower Cap-ex and Op-ex.
“ICW Powermode were delighted with the FirePro solution, which helped us facilitate an extremely tight power distribution equipment replacement programme. Without cylinders or pipes to consider, the fire suppression systems were designed, installed & commissioned within budget and on time, and supported by a solid professional team. We hope to work with FirePro again on future projects” - Ian Wright – Managing Director
