Chelsea & Westminster NHS Trust comprises of two main hospitals that provide a central hub for accident & emergency services as well as a number of satellite premises dedicated to patient care and wellbeing.
The FirePro product was first installed on Trust premises in as part of a HV/LV full upgrade programme in 2011 (see image below). This system remains in service today. FirePro’s fully sustainable, 15-year life cycle means that the installed FirePro units will be due for renewal in 2026, which is just one distinct advantage for the product over the market alternatives.
Despite FirePro already being installed on site, both EA-RS Fire Group and JCA Engineering required to carry out their due diligence to satisfy best value requirements for the client, which FirePro UK provided clear evidence for.
The installation was completed and delivered in a matter of days, and not weeks to meet with the programme and client demands. Additional key factors for the selection of the FirePro fire suppression product included:
- The speed of installation could be guaranteed to meet the programme, with readily available materials and full technical support from FirePro UK.
- As of Sept 21, systems may now be installed & certificated in accordance with the LPCB scheme ref 1204.
- The product is supported in the UK by a large network of independent 3rd party accredited fire systems specialists, thus alleviating the risk to the end user of being locked in for after sales servicing.
- Sacrificial footprint, 10-year hydrostatic testing and special logistics for pressurised cylinder requirements were eliminated.
- The client is assured by an independently certified (KIWA & UL) 15 year product life cycle, and wholly sustainable, environmentally sound solution.
